Guevavi. Dating back to the 1600’s, it’s not a word you hear often.  Many people ask, ‘what does Guevavi mean?’  It’s simple:  Survival.

Survival from competition.  Survival from brutal elements.  Survival based on persistence and innovation.  According to legend in the Santa Cruz River Valley of Arizona, Guevavi is derived from a blend of Spanish influence and an O’odham word first referenced in 1691. 

More than 300 years later, Guevavi means more than just survival – its presence creates engagement and interaction among many cultures.
